Details

In cooperation with the Institute of Corrosion (ICorr) in the United Kingdom, the Materials Engineering Association (MEA) is pleased to invite its members and those interested in the field of materials and corrosion engineering to attend a scientific training course entitled “Microbiological Influenced Corrosion (MIC)” which will be launched from November 23 to 27, 2025.

This course provides advanced specialist knowledge on microbiological corrosion (MIC) threats and techniques to identify and mitigate them. The past three decades of research and field experience have provided an in-depth understanding of this type of corrosion that has led to enhanced microbial characterization and the development of more effective techniques for monitoring and prevention.

This course focuses on effective practices for controlling microbial growth concentrations. Course covers: Corrosion-causing microbes, monitoring methods (traditional and modern), control and prevention techniques, susceptible materials, microbiological determination and management.
