On February 11, 2026, the regular scientific meeting was held at the Le Méridien Hotel in Al Khobar, organized by the Materials Engineering Association (MEA) in partnership with AMPP Dhahran Chapter. We extend our sincere thanks to Virtual Scientific Industries (VSI), the meeting’s sponsor, and to the speakers, Dr. Ed Kingston, CEO of VEQTER, and Mr. Gul Khan, President of VSI. The speakers addressed the causes of residual stress in materials after welding and its negative effects on equipment performance and lifespan, as well as destructive and non-destructive measurement techniques for residual stresses. Following the scientific presentations, a dinner was held, attended by specialists and engineers interested in materials engineering, welding, and metal corrosion, along with a large number of representatives from local companies.
