The Materials Engineering Society, headquartered in Dhahran, was established on Ramadan 2, 1445 AH (March 12, 2024 AD) as a non-profit association under the Civil Society Organizations and Institutions Law, under the umbrella of the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development and under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy, with license number 1000579400.

The Society works to raise awareness and disseminate knowledge in the field of materials engineering and metal corrosion, and to build scientific and professional capacities. The Society also strives to provide an appropriate environment by holding conferences, scientific seminars, and specialized courses to exchange information and discuss areas of prevention and control of corrosion in the oil and energy industries and various other industries. It also showcases the latest technologies of the industrial revolution and their applications in the field of materials engineering and metal corrosion prevention.
